In February 2026, FeeTwinEV project partners from STU and UTWENTE, together with senior and junior researchers, will visit LCM for a week of joint activities.

A central highlight of the programme will be a hands-on workshop initiated by Marcus Pessoa, focusing on the application of Systems Engineering methods to Digital Twin development. The workshop will explore, in particular, the Digital Twin of the Battery Pack developed within the FreeTwinEV project. Contributions from Jorge Perez Garcia will further enrich the session, offering insights into the application of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to Digital Twins.

The workshop will follow a structured, interactive format. Participants will begin by approaching the Digital Twin as a “black box,” focusing on its intended functions from a user perspective. The discussion will then progressively move toward a more detailed system view, analysing physical components, functional subsystems, and their interactions. This approach is designed to encourage active participation and stimulate valuable exchange of ideas.

In addition to the main workshop, participants are invited to join a session led by Barbara Hartl, featuring hands-on work with the SyMSpace optimization platform developed at LCM and used within the project for parameter identification. The programme will also include meetings dedicated to the preparation of the upcoming Summer School at LCM in May, as well as discussions on planned publications, joint Horizon Europe proposals, and updates from the project’s technical work package.

This visit will offer a valuable opportunity for in-depth collaboration, knowledge exchange, and networking in an in-person setting.
